I’m offended that they are offended. Where do I pick up my reparations?
These type of PC situations have happened for awhile. Charlie Drake’s novelty song “My Boomerang Won’t Come Back” had a line: “I practiced till I was black in the face”.
It had to be changed to “blue” (early 60s)
And I have said this here and on various other places on the Web, but I gotta say it again:
Native American? Why, I’m a Native American and I’m
not offended.
I was born in the United States of America. Therefore I am a Native American. So are millions of other people.
It’s a misleading term. “Indian-American” (and I don’t mean India like New Delhi) is closer to what they mean.
I think in Canada they use “First Nations”. I’m also a person of color—beige.
