Looks like a residential area with a lot of room in the park. There are going to be two types of events when the verdict comes down: planned protests in parks put on by mostly white liberals, and inner city mayhem that will be spontaneous.

You can't plan on where the mayhem will be but at least you can prepare for the planned protests.

When they were doing their "Marching for Trayvon" stuff they met at the J.C. Nichols fountain just east of the Country Club Plaza. Lots of room in Mill Creek Park. Affluent area. Plenty of space for media. Perfect for their purposes. There's nothing around Prospect and Cleaver except, as you said, apartnemnts and houses. Where's the fun of protesting around that?
