One good thing about that Band Aid song ("Do They Know It's Christmas") is that it finally retired that John & Yoko song that we used to hear over and over again at Christmastime. You know, the "Happy Xmas" one where the chorus goes "War is Over, If You Want It" - over and over and over.

Now that "Do They Know It's Christmas" is kind of tired after 30 years, I guess it's time to come up with another feel-good holiday song with a catchy and repetitive chorus that will open our wallets up at the malls.

War is definitely not over and children are still starving in Africa. And I reckon Ebola will still be with us years from now when they come up with yet another fund-raising song. But the music will make us feel good and keep those cash registers ringing - count on that anyhow.
