Live Aid was actually pretty good and was broadcast on MTV which was good stuff at the time. I’ve owned the 3 DVD LIVE AID set for years and it is excellent. Lots of great bands of the time.
yep... just throw money at Africa..and those corrupt billionaire leaders, in each country, will make sure that money gets to the proper destination.

I hate all three, along with Paul McCartney’s “Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time.” That song makes me retch every time I hear it.
Then there’s Bryan Adams’ “Reggae Christmas.” Because nothing says Reggae like a scrawny white Canadian guy.
Speaking of Christmas rockers, one of my favorite rock Christmas songs is "I Believe In Father Christmas" by Greg Lake. Later on, a band called Human Drama did an awesome version of it. Definitely worth finding a download for that.

I despise the horrible song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” almost as much as I despise the utter execrable “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” that infects the radio during Christmas.
“Do They Know It’s Gruber After All?” is Bammy’s favorite Holiday tune.
Ebola has been researched for 40 years and despite what the CDC claims, we do know how it’s transmitted and how to treat it. The problem is idiots who insist on eating infected meat, kissing all over infected corpses, stealing patients and blood soaked linens from clinics and those leaders who are still in denial. Band Aid isn’t going to help a thing when so many are stuck on stupid.

My point is that these celebrity charity efforts usually don't do much, if anything, for the cause. I remember reading that Band Aid, Live Aid, Haiti relief and others may have netted a paltry sum for the actual cause. The bulk went to “overhead,” “expenses” and what not. In the case of Haiti, I believe most of the money and supplies ended up in the hands of corrupt government officials and gangs.
If I'm going to give to some charitable endeavor, I'd give to local cause. Why should squander my limited resources for hellholes of poverty, superstition, corruption and greed?
