When global warming is a prerequisite for grant money, global warming is going to be an explanation for everything. Other possibilities, like fewer hurricanes, or underwater volcanoes can’t possibly have anything to do with warmer ocean temperatures, not to mention jet streams. It has to be increased CO2 gasses in the atmosphere causing the water to heat up, despite not having any evidence to support that.

If the oceans are at an all time high temperature (or whatever), atmospheric CO2 will also be at a high... as the solubility of CO2 in water decreases as the water temperature rises
