Every Day Carry means carrying a concealed pistol every single day.

No it doesn’t, it just means what you carry everyday.

She’s 100% correct. Avoid, run away, and do not get involved in armed confrontations unless it is absolutely impossible to avoid. Even at the point of hurting your pride.
Today’s hit movies and Internet fantasies aside, -any- bullet wound in a dystopian world is very likely to prove fatal.
This is not the time to play army and strut around all day daring anyone to cross your imaginary lines.
Think little house on the prairie more than the latest zombie opera.

the anal exam that happens in a homicide case is expensive and will probably shorten one’s life from the stress..

1. When a riot may be starting, don’t wander around in the area of the rioters.

2. Don’t attempt to blend in with the potential rioters. Stay away from that area instead of looking for trouble.

3. Don’t “bug out” to run away from a little, old riot. Stay at home, where it’s safer than wandering around.

4. If you hear breaking glass or smell smoke during a riot, then you may live in a bad neighborhood. Avoid running outside in panic without finding the source of smoke, if the house is not going to burn down. If you’re on the receiving end of the Baxter treatment shown in the movie, “A Fistful of Dollars,” forget about surviving. You’re a displaced suburbanite and probably have no chance of escaping the horde of armed thugs waiting outside. That’s one of the few kinds of movie scenes that could happen in real life in the event of a riot in a bad neighborhood.

;-)

"5. Blend in, if you can, until you can get out. If they’re wearing shemaghs, you wear a shemagh. If they’re carrying a sign, you carry a sign. Whatever they’re chanting, you chant."

Would the follower of that commando advice always carry a desert scarf and a sign, or would they run home to get them and run back to rejoin the potential rioters?

And keyboard commandos be assured. The whole world could look like Kevin Costner’s in the Postman. But you shoot someone, the government will work better than ever before.

She was probably thinking you might use your imagination and think of how to best blend in. If they are mad about cops, you are mad about cops. If they love ALgore you do too. Until a moment you see that chance to lag further behind and finally drop out of the pack.
It isn’t all guns. . But her ideas aren’t that far off.

One would think that most of the stress would be on the cop taking the popper's rectal temperature and hoping that the popper doesn't pop, before it's done. [Putrescine and botulinum can be most hazardous, when a swollen cadaver bursts.]

5.) Go upstairs with your .223 and open the window. Turn out the lights and have 5 30rd magazines ready to go.

6.) After 150 shots fired pick up your other .223 and continue with other 5 magazines until idiots are dispersed.

7.)Keep sidearms holstered until needed.

8.)Keep Shotgun loaded and at stairs.

I was only teasing a little. I lived in a rough urban neighborhood for a few years in the past and now reside in a remote and sparsely populated place. In that rough neighborhood long ago, we laughed at folks who continued driving through on rims after having flat tires. Also trained as a soldier for combat, police work, security, etc.

The best advice that I can give suburban folks for personal security during a riot is to stay away from the riot. Don’t go there before or during the riot. And in the event of a nuclear exchange or similar event, don’t attempt to flee to any rural area without owning property in such an area and getting there before trouble starts. If home is too dangerous, go to the nearest refugee staging ground with security (for example, an area secured by the National Guard).

Be humble and analytical. Pride goes before a fall.

12 gauge, low recoil, 00 buckshot (low recoil buckshot!). And be sure that there's a buttstock on it--not a pistol grip! Either a pump or semi-auto should do fine. But study firearms safety, and practice much! Go to the range, and observe every safety step!

If you don’t want the 12 gauge you can go with the same version in 20ga.

Broadbased rules if chaos and violence erupt around you:
#1: if in a vehicle, keep the vehicle moving no matter what
#2: if on foot, separate from a mob (typically by following the largest mobster until an opening appears)
#3: if being chased by a mob, begin dropping your caltrops behind you as you flee (you do carry stackable riot control devices, yes?)
#4: if mass coughing and bleeding breaks out in the crowd around you, put on your foldable N95 respirator that you carry in your wallet or glove box of your vehicle (eye protection and gloves are a double plus good bonus)
#5: now is not the time to get in some last moment prepper shopping (too late, too bad)
#6: now is not the time to be seen packing heat visibly by passing LEO, paramilitary, or military forces (never pick a 1 man fight against a 1st World government/military)
#7: find safety first, and keep in mind that “safety” might be a brief, unexpected thing or place or group
#8: get to your bug-in location if reasonable, or follow your best bug-out plan, otherwise
#9: AFTER you’ve established physical safety, insure that you have food/water/shelter-from-elements/weapons/gear/ammo
#10: work on improving your situation

I would say, because real life ain’t like the movies. Yes you need to be armed and yes there’s a good chance that showing a gun of even using one will get you out of many situations, but you can take them all out unless you are Rambo. Are you Rambo?
