Strange. Has the author never heard of carrying or using a gun? It is not mentioned once.

You might try fully reading the article:
"12. Get in the habit of EDC: Everyday Carry. These are items you automatically put in your pockets when you leave the house, along with your keys and wallets. Since a purse can easily become lost or stolen, you may have to adjust your wardrobe. Think escape first, defense second."

I read the full article. That’s how I knew that guns were not part of the survival kit. Perhaps I missed it. Please point out where it is, if so.

So, this nebbish ends up in a biker bar, the conversation turns to a nuclear strike on America.
The nebbish asks this big burly biker what he’d do in the half hour or so it would take for the missiles to arrive.
Wah, I’d hop on the first thing that moved and hump it to death! Wha would you do?
Ummm. I’d stand perfectly still...

Why has “Survival Mom” studiously avoided advising people, especially people who are at home, to arm themselves?
All of this advice boils down to “run and hide”. What happens when running and hiding doesn’t work? Just let yourself and your loved ones be slaughtered? That’s what it sounds like to me.

“I know Lisa we she says everyday carry she means carry.”
Then she is a poor communicator, she never mentions a firearm, only a knife and some pepper spray.
From the link:
“A couple of items for EDC to consider that relate to this topic:
$50+ in cash, smaller bills
A knife with a larger blade or a tactical pen (Know how to use these.)
Industrial strength pepper spray
A police scanner app (free!) to avoid areas with problems”
Say what you mean and mean what you say.

Then just say it. Carry a pistol until you can reach your rifle.
For a ‘survival’ mom, she’s way too concerned about hurting someone’s feelings.
