Good Morning FRiends.
Snap!
Good morning n’@!
How are you and Mr S feeling? Is the bug going away? Hope you’re both on the mend.
Lots of shaking going on—Kansas yesterday had a 4.8 and the very active as corner of Oregon (Lakeview) has had thousands of tiny quakes since July, lots of 3 recently and some near 4s over night.
Mornin everybuddy!
Morning! Still slightly congested but much much better. Mr S, OTOH, is in the midst of it now. He was hacking all night.
Poor guy, now he finds out he needs a knee replacement as well, but they won’t do the surgery until they get permission from his heart doc, who is, inexplicably, gone for 6 or 8 weeks. So he’s getting a knee brace and having to go through therapy. He’s thin and never carried much weight.
I was reading the thread about the guy in Alabama who used his FAcebook page to insult all our military. His business is getting boycotted BIG TIME! The same military he insulted is the same military who protects his right to speak like an idiot.
What a loser!
Good morning!
And that guy and his wife ON A GUN STORE! Good grief how stupid can they be?!!!
On=OWN...sigh...Outlaw Guns IIRC.
Morning AM! Just ran off to make coffee and toast. Last of the 2013 peach jam. Didn’t get peaches this year. Poor peach crop. Last winter was too cold.
Sorry to hear about Mr. S’s knee :-/
And also your peach preserves situation...I fear you won’t have much of a crop next summer after this coming Winter (if the predictions are all correct).
The Gruber story (3 videos as of last night...let’s see how many more are found today) is going mainstream. The DUmmies were even verbally assailing the one or two “true believers” in BarryCare who were defending Mr MIT “ends justify the means” Professor. So there IS some hope out there...
On CBS just now...Below freezing temps in ALL 50 STATES this morning!
‘Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Try zinc lozengers for Mr. S to get over the cold type stuff(NOT nasal spray with zinc).
Don’t you mean 57?/sarc
LOL! Hawaii?? Below freezing? Somebody at CBS messed up!
Thanks! I just told him about the zinc lozenges!
Nasal spray is deadly dangerous. My mom was an RN but became addicted to Sinex. Used it several times a day, sometimes a couple of times an hour. Eventually it rotted her nose and she suffered MASSIVE life threatening nosebleeds. She would lose so much blood she’d pass out.
I am convinced it also contributed to her slide into dementia before she died.
And of course being an RN grad from a then top hospital...Mercy here in Pittsburgh...she knew way better than any doctor.
Ahhh—one of my rivals(LOL) St Francis RN grad here.
No, actually at the tops of the volcanos in Hawaii it is often below freezing and snowing.
Of course it doesn’t last long, lol!
One of my co workers just got back from hosting a Hawaiian vacation/cruise package. She was amazed to see snow and lava in the same day. She also had to deal with an ebola scare and a typhoon while there.
She gave me a bit of trivia. There are basically no exotic birds in Hawaii...really few birds at all. The only excepton is one island that is overrun with chickens. Decades ago that island was used for chicken farming but a typhoon destroyed the farms, the chickens escaped and with no natural preditors reproduced unchecked.
IIRC although mom was a Mercy nurse she spent some time at St Francis. She used to go on and on bout how you could tell where a nurse was from by their hats and she was quite good at folding them.
While she was in training she was crossing a street near the old hospital when she wa run over b a car. Had to be in the late 30’s, early 40’s. Totallty crushed her neck and chest.
She got to the emergency room and the doctors didn’t think they could help her. They asked if she wanted anything and although she didn’t smoke she asked or a cig.
They gave her one and were amazed when she sat up. It must have done some good because they were able to put her together and with the exception of a couple of deformed collar bones she recovered, went back to work, got married and lived to be in her 80’s.
Thanks for the fascinatin’ info! Actually, I think I do remember seeing peaks in Hawaii with snow!
Lowest temp ever recorded in Hawaii was +12 F.
