In the decade after Roe v Wade (around when I was becoming politically aware), the number one demographic supporting abortion was young males, wanting to evade the consequences of their actions.

And I knew a few who were vocal enough (considering they hadn't yet had a girlfriend) that if the woman didn't get an abortion that they wanted her to get, the man shouldn't be held accountable. Yeah, they had some learning (and maturing) to do.

An entirely logical position. Without easy abortion, an unplanned pregnancy and baby is an accident affecting both parties.

With easy abortion, it's the female's choice to produce a baby, and she should be responsible financially and otherwise for her choice.

The male, legally given no choice or even input on the decision to produce a baby, should not be held responsible.
