Zulu! is quite accurate in most clips of the film. If one looks real hard during the volley scene, one will see the rear rank armed with .303 bolt action Enfields instead of the Martini-Henry .451. I guess it was hard to find enough Martini Henry rifles for the movie.

Another one not mentioned is that Trooper Hook in real life was the exact opposite of a malinger as depicted in the film. Hollywood couldn’t have made up a better hero than the real life Hook.

In the Russian movie, WAR AND PEACE(1967), if you look close during the battle of Borodino you will see troops in the back ground using bolt action Mosin-Nagant rifles.
In one scene of the battle you see a Russian soldier running toward the right of the screen, the rifle carried in his left hand but the bolt is clearly showing it to be a bolt action rifle.
