Tuesday it could near 70 (then violent cold front) as Polar Vortex (courtesy of SuperTyphooon Nuri altering the Jet stream) DIPS SOUTH. In November! 3os for highs by the end of next week! NOT a good sign for winter months to come.
And Oregon (SE corner) still shaking. Some of the EQ types are worried about this :-/

That must have gone south of us. Of course, I was working in the basement all day. Very rainy and chilly here. I want to stay in my jammies, make a hot cup of coffee, and wrap up in a warm blanky! We’ve been talking about getting a 100 lb propane tank from Lowes. We have our small propane heater in the living room. Takes the chill off very nicely!
Whoa I actually just installed that app on mrs p6’s W8.1 laptop and it works great!
From what I gather there was an accident and fire possibly on or near Steuben Street about a mile away. Major morning commuter route but nothing on TV news yet.
Meanwhile Beckel was going ballistic on The Five again. Total denial just like Pelosi, Reid and BO.
BTW whatever happened to Beckel’s October Surprise? Looks like it was a typical Rat trick/red herring!
From the time you posted the link to that app to getting it installed and running had to be less than 2 minutes. Very easy.
FWIW mrs p6 and I are having NO problems with W8.1. It runs fast and hasn’t crashed. Working better than XP on my desktop PC.

Yes, I have to make sure my Mom’s place is winterized this weekend. She’s escaped to AZ for the winter, as she does every year. I can’t blame her.
I can handle the cold, but please - NO SNOW yet.
You’ll get “hooked” on that website! We live between two volunteeer Fire depts and hear their whistles all the time. Out here our VFDs and EMS broadcast on the public channel; police departments do not. I’ve been told it’s because of TPIKE proxmity (drug traffick) they stay “private.” But also because of TPIKE, our little VFDs get quit a work out responding.
In our local paper, NO MENTION EVER of home break ins (like mine!); drug arrests (unless it is part of a traffic stop); etc. The “only” crime we have is the ne’r do wells swipling DVDs from Walmart or garments from Kohls.
It’s really cool “to hear” what is going on!
I don’t usually post in these threads, but...man, I wish Quinn and Rose were around now that the landslide has happened.
I stopped listening to 104.7 here in Pittsburgh after the 2012 elections. I got excited on Wednesday, tried to listen to it, and found out the hard way that they demoted 104.7’s lineup to AM radio that gets horrible reception where I live, and turned 104.7 into a country station.
They must really have not learned anything because our new AM talk station still has Bloomdaddy in the morning slot. I tried listening to him, but nope, he’s still the most lifeless, insipid talk radio host I think I’ve ever listened to. I’d sure love to know what they see in him.
Quinn has hinted at a return. It will be a full year, on the 13th, since they left the airwaves. Sounds like there’s a possibility of something in the works. No question that nobody has been able to take their place.
