Windows 9 was skipped to prevent legacy application confusion. For example, poor coding could’ve been used where they specify “Windows 9*” to include by 95 & 98, and that would also catch Windows 9.

They skipped 9. Don’t remember the reason why but it was a good one. Release date is spring of 2015. You can find screen shots online or download it (it’s a beta and shouldn’t be installed on a PC that you value. Could crash it)
