That is not the correct 1984 map for Reagan’s win.

The “Redstate.com” and other “South Will Rise Again” (RED on Civil War maps, representing the South {and Democrats, too}) politicos ... have continued to push the RED meme.

BLUE is the color for Reagan Republicans and states and counties won - in 1980 and in 1984.

Some years after, the TV network news swapped the colors, in order to confuse west coast voters: The abundance of BLUE at a glance of the TV, had west coast voters thinking that Republicans were winning - so no need to rush from work to the polls before going home.

Again, BLUE is for REAGAN, and RED is for COMMUNISTS/LEFTISTS/SOCIALISTS.
