SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) Authorities believe they have arrested a prolific tagger who allegedly struck more than 750 times in the Santa Clarita Valley since 2009.
Detectives announced that the graffiti artist who tagged the name Rane is behind bars.
The vandal was identified at 23-year-old Isiah Garcia.
Garcia who authorities also believe used the tag Kase was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriffs Station.
Detectives served a search warrant at Garcias home in the 25200 block of Everett Drive in the Newhall area Thursday morning.
Officials say Garcia used spray paint, permanent markers, etching tools, and adhesive stickers to leave vandalize windows, walls, and almost any other stationary object within the Santa Clarita Valley.
Announcing the arrest, the LA County Sheriffs Department crowed, Rane of Terror Ends.
The city of Santa Claritas Graffiti Removal Program documented approximately 750 graffiti incidents allegedly committed by Garcia the past five years. Local business owners said the alleged vandal also etched his name in various store windows.
Detective J. Burrow, who headed the investigation to find Rane, worked closely with the city of Santa Claritas Graffiti Abatement Coordinator to identify the full extent of the damage done.
Detectives reportedly recovered numerous cans of spray paint, permanent markers, etching tools, adhesive stickers and other evidence linking Garcia to the tagger names Rane and Kase, officials said.
Detectives are asking any property owner, especially within the Santa Clarita Valley who has not yet reported vandalism possibly committed by Garcia to do so by calling Santa Clarita Valley Station at (661) 255-1121.
The monetary value of the damage Rane and Kase is alleged to have caused is still being determined.
Wanna bet?????
First offense - 10 stroke with a cane and restitution.
Second offense - 50 strokes with a cane and restitution.
Third offense - cut off their hand.
or something like that ...
Nice to see a vandal called a vandal instead of an “artist”.
Not in the United States legally?
In NYC during the 70’s the big taggers were Vinny, Pnut and Tracy. 750 tags was child’s play.
I wonder if he got the time to do this because he was not worried about health insurance. Have to ask Pelosi I guess.
Cut off his thumbs.
Why not just hire the guy to decorate the town?
Some liberals celebrate all this God awful gang graffiti as “art” or “street theater” or “street art” or other words so as not to offend the “artist”.
Would he really work as a legitimate artist, and not as a gang graffiti criminal??? You think that would work???
He’s no Cool “Disco” Dan . .
yet
No, strip him nekkid, paint him with spray paint till he is multi colored, put him in the stock in the towne square and sell tomatoes for a nickel a piece to be thrown at hime and use the money raised to reverse his vandalism.
Common items found in everyone's house. Did a search and no pictures of his graffiti showed up.
Yes sir, he has been tried and convicted.
