On the next one buy a 90 degree adapter for the plug end.
This was suggested to me by a tech.
I had the same thing happen with my Asus.
I was steady enough to solder a new plug the first time but, The second time it ended up in recycle minus the hard drive which I plugged into my desktop and retrieved every thing I needed then I formatted it and use it for back up storage.
$1100 down the drain. It lasted a month past warranty.

Well...I’m lucky...this laptop is 3-4 years old....and this is the only real problem we’ve had with it...and, I bought it online. But, I think we will try something else...thinking about a Tablet, but only if we can hook it to a large monitor at times.
