There are many viruses that can cause a hemorrhagic fever. Measles, dengue, hanta, congo-crimean, Argentinian hemorrhagic fever, yellow fever, typhus (actually a bacteria)... I wonder if she has malaria. Its very common in Africa. It could even be influenza. Its the season for it.
Gee, if the hospital says it is a hemorrhagic fever then just maybe she is bleeding, otherwise they would just say we are watching her because of her travels in an abundance of caution as other hospitals around the world have.
Do you even understand how many diseases on your list are quarantine diseases not to mention the list from the post you were putting down????
Yeah, I think if a hospital says she is suffering from a "hemorrhagic fever" and has traveled to West Africa they have every right to be very concerned and respond accordingly....whichever "hemorrhagic fever" it is.
I was criticizing the characterization of the illness as a "hemorrhagic fever." I do not know, but I suspect that either the reporter who wrote the piece injected the word "hemorrhagic" for extra drama, or the hospital spokesperson (who is almost certainly not medically trained) used that word out of ignorance. In either case, I seriously doubt the woman was hemorrhaging.

Actually, I do understand that. I get paid to know this stuff.
