Green coffee bean extract, which Dr. Mehmet Oz promoted on his show as a magic weight-loss cure, had one scientific study backing up the extracts purported effects. Now, that research has been retracted, the blog Retraction watch reported.
Oz had to do some explaining on Capitol Hill in June, when senators asked him why he, as a surgeon and well-known doctor, promotes the use of weight-loss products that are scientifically unfounded. [ ]
The green coffee bean manufacturer, Applied Food Sciences Inc., agreed to pay a $3.5 million settlement after the Federal Trade Commission charged the company with using the results of the flawed study to make baseless claims, the agency announced in September.

My magic weight loss formula:
Eat some animal and mostly vegetable, don’t drink calories, and move everyday.
It’s unfortunate. Oz is (or was) a respectable cardiac surgeon. Now he’s a snake oil salesman.

I’m waiting for the tell-all about Isagenix (sp?). It is unholy expensive and the people that are on it are like some cult followers. It’s always “the product” “the company” “the program” like they are ashamed to say what it really is.
I’ve seen a lot more “carping” on TV though!
Ah I carped up! Crap!

This guy is the vice chairman of surgery at P&S.

Stress and anxiety doesn’t do it for me. Under those conditions, I eat like a horse.
During the Bush/Gore hanging chads debacle that seemed to be endless I dropped about 15 pounds. Couldn’t eat and stomach was round the clock tight. I was, of course, hungry but had no interest in food. Weird.
sociopaths predating upon the weak, sick and dying.
I lost 50 lbs the summer of 2011. Extreme physchological, emotional, physical stress will do that to me rarely... it also can go the other way.
I tried the green coffee beans for weight loss. It did not help one whit either to reduce my appetite or to lose weight. Totally bogus.
I read on the net that Turmeric is good for everything. And I don’t mean for seasoning.

Same happened to me summer 2012. 30# gone.
Biggest snake oil salesperson ever.
