When I chose to become a public scholar in the 1990s, there were three people who inspired me the most: Michael Eric Dyson, Julianne Malveaux and Cornel West.

Caution: Credibility sinking fast.

I also found myself to be a strong supporter of the great Minister Louis Farrakhan and Rev Jesse Jackson.

Warning: Rate of credibility loss accelerating exponentially.

Rev. Al Sharpton might be one of the smartest public figures I’ve ever met, but I confess that we don’t always see eye-to-eye.

Danger: Credibility zero and going negative.

What nonsensical drivel.

Can you splain to me what a “Public Scholar” is? Seems to me to be another made up position to make someone “impotant”. It ranks right up there with “gay studies” in impotance. We here at FR don’t need to study to be happy.
