I agree Edward Woodward was superb in the movie.
He later did the tv series the Equalizer, my late father was a big fan of those episodes.

Woodward was also in the original, 1973 version of The Wicker Man. It’s quite good, and something of a cult classic. Definitely better than the Nicholas Cage remake (”oh no, not the bees!” LOL).

I agree Edward Woodward was superb in the movie.

He was. But Jack Thompson as Major Thomas was even better. When he looks up at the first witness and asks, "Well did it?" it's one of the best scenes in the movie.

His greatest TV role was in Callan. 1967-72, film 1974, tv film 1981.

Sadly most Americans haven’t heard of Callan, but in the UK its still regarded as one of the best British TV series ever made.
