I think it's the post-seasons which should be shorter. At one time, only the best of the best competed for the World Series, Super Bowl or finals. Now with all these playoffs and wild cards, a team has to be 0 and 70 to not make it to the post-season. Just cheapens the game and the championship, IMHO.
