My sister spent many years as a repairman and fixed hundreds of washers and dryers. She always told me to by Whirlpool.

My wife and I bought a Whirlpool set in March 1982 the week after we married. We replaced that set in 1996 with another Whirlpool set and still have that set today.

The only thing I have replaced is two dryer drum belts (one on each dryer owned), one dryer heating element and one lint trap filter on our current dryer.

By the way, the dryer filters on the top of the machine are safer than the filters located on the bottom inside the door. Lint that gets through the bottom filters will collect directly on the heating elements and can be a fire hazard.

“Lint that gets through the bottom filters will collect directly on the heating elements and can be a fire hazard.”

That’s the only design flaw in the LG dryer. Too much lint gets past the filter and, at a minimum, eventually clogs up the exhaust vent.
