The mentioned lawsuit is but a small part of the picture. Texas settled for over $150 million, the Fed settled for over $2 billion on this same drug...... There are many more lawsuits and none of the settlements admitted guilt. Thus they just pay off the party and continue to promote the drug.

These drugs are dangerous as all of the atypical antipsychotics are. The side effects are horrendous and it is black boxed in the PDR for senior citizens. However, it does not create the tardive dyskinesia side effect found in the non atypical drugs, thus younger patients tend to prefer it.

These drugs block a persons ability to resolve issues and/or develop in the emotional aspect of consciousness. My observations of people using atypicals is that the right prefontal cortex or emotional executive function is overactive. This causes a short term memory focus and decreases the ability for long term focus or planning.

I use the analogy of a person sitting in the back seat of a traveling car getting sick due to focusing on all the scenery that is flying by as they look out the side window. If they are in the front seat the focus is down the road and the scenery does not effect them. This same consciousness pattern is observed in schizophrenics as it is as though they are stuck in the back seat and have no ability to focus down the road. (Note: the same thing is true for sea sickness as if you look at the horizon rather than close to the boat the sickness often diminishes) It appears to be a malfunction of the neural signals in the area postrema that causes this as I observed frequent headaches just under the cerebellum in the top of the neck, center in back utilized as a defense mechanism.

I am right now working with a man in his thirties who has schizophrenia. It’s my first time for a full case study. I’ve found attributes that I have never seen in people and am now formulating a plan to resolve it. The dopaminergic pathways are only a part of it.

I work with consciousness flow patterns. I’ve found a strong horizontal pattern with minimal vertical. A sense of self was never developed due to negative stimulus during key development stages. It takes two traumas to create this pattern. One at age 2 to 3 yrs old creating internalized fear and one around 7 to 8 creating learned helplessness at the stage when a child normally begins to develop the logical aspect of consciousness that leads to a healthy ego identity.

All children have psychic abilities that diminish as the logical aspect of consciousness develops and creates a reception block to the voices. In schizophrenia the inability to develop this individual ego identity facilitates the development of a dependency identity surrounding the identity of the voices.

A few years ago I was working with a woman and I removed the source of the voices and she went into a deep dark depression as her entire identity was based upon the external voices. She had no identity of her own and ended up reversing the work. This time I am building a healthy sense of self in this man to facilitate rebellion against the voices just as a teenager rebels against their parents to formulate their own identity. It appears to be working but it has been three weeks and I see a few more to complete resolution.

I tell him that it is ok to hear voices.
It is ok to talk with those voices.
It is ok to argue with those voices.
IT IS NOT OK TO LOSE ARGUMENTS WITH THOSE VOICES!

Validation of the individual apart from the dependency identity is the key component to helping a person in these situations.
