This foreigner's deceit isn't worth putting so many lives in danger. Travel from infected nations needs to be stopped now. some_text

Everybody should get a grip. Only source that she DIDN’T call are SUPPOSEDLY her parents. And the Daily Mail is really only a semi-credible source anyway. Their bread and butter is sensationalism.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that Vinson called the agency several times before flying, saying that she had a fever with a temperature of 99.5 degrees. But because her fever wasn’t 100.4 degrees or higher, she didn’t officially fall into the group of “high risk” and was allowed to fly.

she has a Texas nursing license. She is responsible by the laws within that certification to understand and abide by infection control precepts.

she, like Obama, are above all laws of nature and man, until it bites them, or us, in the buttocks.

Yeah--I'm not convinced either way, but this is in the Brit press. It's not like I have any belief that the CDC is honest, but let's see how the family of the bride does. It's beginning to sound like she was infectious earlier than we believed. Seems to me that we have lots of deception around this outbreak.

Does anyone watch House, MD? What does he always say about human beings when confronted with their mortality?

no offense .
She is a licensed nurse in a Isolation ward not a clerk at Walgreens.

She was licensed nurse working in the ebola isolation ward and had a coworker who just got sick dye to unknown exposure and was told to self quarantine.

Now we learn she was sicker than first reported which is code for she
hide or ignored her own symptoms . I hope she did not get suck some low information clown walking around sick and thinking its allergies.

Here's the video. At the 59:50 mark, Mr. Murphy asks if she called the CDC. Frieden then says it is his understanding that she did call. For about the next minute they discuss it.

I would think that anyone who had a known connection with patient zero would be given a direct phone line number to someone in charge. But that is just me.

You'd think the government would be competent and efficient, but it most usually is not.

As the great Ronald Reagan said, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'"

I dunno, but if he's as good a philosopher as he is a diagnostician, the first things he would say would be wrong.

She's black. Frieden knows the racial politics and racial obsessions, and he knows that Obama loves to put white people in the line of fire and blame.

Wonder if she was one of those who were "discriminating" against Duncan?

Does anyone remember in 08 and 09 how Obama went around saying how he *liked* nurses, implying that he despised doctors? Nurses are more likely to be unionized.

I think we are in a world where lies are truth, and truth is lies.

“Everybody lies”—and personnel in an ER know that better than anyone else in the hospital.

The headline is misleading. It states that she contacted Texas health officials who contacted the CDC on her behalf and relayed their response back to her. So in effect she did contact them, albeit indirectly. She did what she was supposed to do. Let’s not hang her over that.

If you were ill and you were a health provider at a hospital and needed to know whether it was safe to travel, who would you contact? The people you know and had contact information for, or some anonymous clerk at the end of a directory assistance phone call?

There’s enough misinformation out there without adding to it with salacious headlines that merely border on the edge of the truth.

Possible, but how many hours was he in the ER? What time did he come in and what time did he leave. The Daily Mail story says he left "then next morning". Everyone who came contact with him at the ER would not have been wearing protective clothing because they (apparently) did not even suspect Ebola at that time.

You made up this alleged headline, didn’t you? In your haste to instigate a panic by mischaracterizing the summary, you misspelled both “Amber” and “confirm”.

From the article: Miss Vinson did contact Texas health officials as she had been told to do, who contacted the CDC on her behalf and relayed the information back that she was safe to travel on Monday as her 99.5F fever was beneath the 100.4 threshold.
