Authorities say a wild black bear ate most of a Northern California man who likely died earlier of a heart attack.
Humboldt County Deputy Coroner Roy Horton said Friday he believes 65-year-old Marion Williams died outside his trailer in a remote area before the bear came upon him.
Authorities discovered the remains on Monday. The identity was confirmed using fingerprints.

If youd like to be on or off this Outdoors/Rural/wildlife/hunting/hiking/backpacking/National Parks/animals list please FR mail me. And ping me is you see articles of interest. Bear week I guess, but I'd like to re start this list. Presuming the heart attack wasn't the result of the attack, I'm not sure the bear is a risk for not much more than eating carrion. I doubt he was the only one. One additional thread.

That’s right! Prosecute the bear because he’s black! Same old story!

“Thats right! Prosecute the bear because hes black! Same old story!”
You noticed that too. The media reports that the perp was black, but they do not mention the race of the victim.
That can only mean that the victim was white.
Did you ever notice that the media never reports when a White Bear eats someone in California?
But when a black bear or brown bear eats someone....
To: Citizen Zed
Predators - look at two legs easier to eat than four legs.
Really we are slower.
Bear vs human, easy. Bear vs any four legger, hard , take the two legger.
I know the elite a-holes will be surprised, hopefully they are the slowest in the race

These manly cartoonists need to catch up on their grammar. No publication should go out like that.

Bears are part of Nature’s clean up crew. They don’t like seeing anything go to waste and do their part keeping Mother Nature in pristine condition.

If the bear is brown, lie down. If the bear is black, fight back.I understand the phrase is a simplification of how you should act around Grizzlies (brown) vs. black bears, but one really needs to understand that black bears are not always black in color.

Yeah, but, mine rhymes, which makes it easy to remember in a life and death situation. It was posted on the kitchen wall in my Mum's house when I grew up there. That’s right he would have. I don’t know why people think cartoons(the good old Warner Bros. kind anyway) weren’t educational. Thanks to cartoons I knew never to blow out a cake that had sticks of dynamite for candles. And I knew that if you got whomped on the head real hard you just had to kind of squeeze yourself up until you were okay again.
