They require the passports so that they can track them, they cannot track those coming across the southern border.

But if they don't have a passport they can just walk across the border, so requiring a passport won't keep them out or insure they can be tracked.

Can we borrow a page from the Progressives here and not waste a crisis.

IF: We ban travel and flights, we stop the individuals and infected planes from coming here.

We can then do a little arm twisting with Mexico, (and I suppose Canada too). You ban the flights as well or the American people, already p!ssed at illegal aliens, will demand the borders are secured or closed. And we may actually have the public support to push it.
