They did not foresee this crisis. Unfortunately, they have too much invested in the rightness of their policies to be jolted into reality by the facts.

Once again, do not make the mistake of giving this man too much credit. He really is not that smart. Don't look for any grand plans or conspiracies. What we are witnessing is a man who is in way over his head. He is drowning.
