It may be a bit of an exaggeration. Although I could see something like the corner by the trash bin getting piled high with all sorts of waste bags. Used IV bottles, gauze, clothing, gowns, human waste, etc. Figuring out that it was contaminated, but not having a procedure to dispose of it properly.
Sort of like the corner of my college dorm room with the dirty clothes hamper. (Not sure on the relative toxicity).

I would not be surprised if the next person to become infected will be someone who was picking up waste and cleaning the room. In other words, the lowest paid of the bunch. I also would not be surprised if we find out there are a lot more already infected.

Folks around here need to do some reading on the disease.
There was a story in Preston’s book about a room so ravaged by the spraying feces and vomit that the sisters at the hospital just closed down the room. And didnt use it again for a long, long time.
So, waste from floor to ceiling is not unheard of.
