No one said good ratings and heavy makeup is a passport into heaven. And, to be perfectly honest, we know very little about Joseph - other than he was engaged to and married Mary. Paul the Apostle was not Jewish - he was a Gentile. Other than that - your post makes very little sense. No one is ignoring Jesus - I was merely stating that I believe the Bakkers started out with good intentions, and yes, their ministry bore fruit. If you know the Scriptures at all, youll find that most all who God chose had feet of clay, only Jesus was perfect. David conspired to have Bethshebas husband murdered, he committed adultery with her, Moses killed a man with his bare hands, and the list goes on and on. But, God forgave and used these imperfect vessels. Even Peter was rebuked by the Lord on a couple of occasions.Your comment "Paul the Apostle was not Jewish - he was a Gentile" is mistaken. Perhaps you mistyped or meant something else. Paul was a Jew. You are (in all probability) a Gentile.
. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
When you wrote "No one is ignoring Jesus - I was merely stating that I believe the Bakkers started out with good intentions, and yes, their ministry bore fruit." In reference to Matthew 5, do you mean - Jesus was mistaken,
- Jesus did not really mean what he said about false prophets,
- The Baker team were not false prophets
- or, as certain also of your own poets have said, "It's a living, we all gotta eat"
I meant to say that Paul was the apostle chosen to preach to the Gentiles. And, no, I don’t believe the Bakkers were false prophets. I believe they got to loving their celebrity too much and forsook their first love. I’m now done with this discussion.
