Wait one!
WTF happened to Windows 7, 8, and 9? Are they so bad that a Windows 10 became necessary? This is insanity. IMNVHO, this is very like General Motors going out and actively sabotaging 5-year old Chevies!
I think maybe I go MAC now?

They didn't use Windows 9, because poor coding in older applications could catch Windows 95 & Windows 98 instead of the intended OS.
For instance, if someone wrote a script to search for Windows 9 machines:
get-adcomputer -filter {osname -like "Windows 9*"}
They'll wind up getting Windows 95 and 98 machines as well. Microsoft didn't want this, so they skipped to 10.

Apple comes out with a new OS every couple years as well. Windows 7 extended support doesn’t end until 2020.

Apple’s gone to yearly upgrades on OS X, so if less frequent change is your deciding factor, Mac won’t help there.

I think maybe I go MAC now? When did Military Airlift Command start making computers?

7 is awesome, everybody hates 8 but it really isn’t that bad, the decided to skip 9. And no it’s nothing like GM sabotaging anything, they aren’t going to do anything to your systems running previous versions. Heck you can even still use XP if you want (or 98, or 95 if you’ve got some really ancient hardware), just don’t expect any patches.
