I’m thinking that hysteria is the most contagious aspect of these outbreaks. Most people have never heard of Ebola or Marburg until now, and people are always terrified of the unknown, even when the known is demonstrably much more deadly.
Influenza season is rapidly approaching—how many Americans will die of that without anyone showing the least bit of fear or concern?
Once people start getting the flu, people might panic about whether or not they’ve contracted Ebola.
