Without the income tax and the federal reserve the liberals would have no money to fund corrupting the culture. Even Zero wouldn’t have any real authority without the trillions to spend.
The Progressive Party of 1912, which Roosevelt, Taft, FDR, and the like were all members. Marxists, all of them. They did far more damage to the culture of America than any pornographer could ever do. They set the stage for demanding money from the government.
Hefner and his crew did not use ‘government money’ to corrupt the culture. That was done entirely in the private sector.
And that makes them worse than the public sector corrupters.

1913 Was a Very Bad Year .
Prior to 1913, there was no federal income tax. The states had rights and representation in Washington, D.C., there was no Federal Reserve Bank, and the federal government lived under the enumerated powers afforded within the U.S. Constitution.
