Police haven't carried service revolvers for decades now. It is a service pistol or service weapon, which is certain to be a semiautomatic. Only Luddites and western reenactment actors use revolvers.

I'm just a boy from the suburbs of Boston whose very first experience with *any* kind of firearm was at Ft Knox,KY in 1969.And no,no "revolvers" were involved...only M-14s and M-16s (we qualified on both).
