It looks like Beats by Dre have been, well, beat. The days of NFL football players and coaches sporting the popular headphones during televised interviews are over for now. This is the result of an exclusive agreement between audio equipment company Bose and the NFL itself. Re/code reports that the agreement bans players and coaches from wearing any other headphones during televised interviews and during games.

It is only a five letter word...
That is about all most coaches and players in the NFL can deal with at one time....
Bose is overpriced junk.
I am no audiophile but I heard Beats are more status symbol than quality.
Heck, I still like my old pair of Koss Pro4aa’s.
I don’t know if BOSE all totally junk but I think it is overpriced. They do clever things with bass management with their acoustimass technologies in their home surround systems taking into account how the human ear actually hears. But it is all way over priced. Give me Yamaha receivers any day(I don’t like their speakers).
Sony has a good basic head phone for 20 bucks...a supra-aural design...mdr-zx300 for example....very flat response...deep bass 10-24000hz. It isn’t circumaural or sound sealing and it isn’t noise cancelling but for most uses has a very outstanding sound. Sony also has some in the ear phones in the 20 dollar category that are very high quality in terms of sound compared to the hundred dollar pairs I see Skull Candy, Beat, or Bose selling for!
I guess the main issue that there are good high quality head phones from the old dependables such as SONY for not much money. Sony does have some noise cancelling phones as well...starting in the 75 dollar category.
and yet Bose is a far better product the Beats
Sixty years ago that might have been the case, but today ain't you granddaddy's NFL! The truly stupid don't last, if they even make it in the first place.
Have beats on my PC (pre installed)..
Better sound quality comes from two cans and a string....
They do one thing: Bass. They are worthless for a balanced listening experience.
I have Beyerdynamic DT880s and wouldn’t ever consider BBD phones. If you like 808 lick drums and Dubstep BBD are great. Anything else? Nope.
You’re probably not getting the most out of the Bose headphones because you’re not using Monster cables. /s
Given the NFL's innumerable legal troubles lately, it might be a good idea to back down on this.
Lousy headphones.
Pressed bass, not accurate.
Miserable response in the mid-spectrum, completely erasing much of what you should be hearing.
High-end like steam coming out of a pipe,
no natural separation in terms of basic sound reproduction,
ZERO credibility except for “BIG BOOMY BASS.”
If all you listen to is rap music and all you want is to have nails driven into your ears whilst listening to AM-fidelity cussing, may I recommend “BEATS BY DR DRE.”
For a far lower price you could have any number of far superior headphones.
Ahh but then again you wouldn’t be cool like “Dr Dre.”
They are ridiculously overpriced, agree.
But I'm liking these:
They’re all obnoxious as hell. For God’s sake, be a grownup and come out from behind your audio blinders, you overpaid game-players!
Beats are absolute garbage. Sennheiser, Audio Technica, and Bose are the only headsets to touch this audiophile’s noggin.
Beats are all name. Dre got himself a great deal with some Chinese garbage drivers with his logo and name all over them. If you look at pictures of him in a studio, he’s using $2,000 Audio Technica or AKG circumaural headphones.
I love my QC15 headphones. I’ve tried noise cancelling headphones from several manufacturers, and Bose is far and away the best bang for the buck when it comes to noise cancellation and sound quality.
I also like that the headphone jacks are removable from the headset. Nothing worse than spending a few bills on a headset, rolling over the cord with your chair and ripping the cord out of the inlet when you move.
Bose makes good stuff and I have high regard for the bose engineered sound systems found in some high end cars...for years, for example they did the ones for corvettes!
