The big question is.................did they still give gifts?
of course! that's the best part, i am sure... i imagine she registered for gifts.... she has probably gone to many weddings throughout the years, showers, etc., and now it was her turn... :)
i know someone who realized they were not likely to ever marry, so she gave herself a lavish 40th birthday party... i like that idea more than self-marriage...
