Is this really “news”? I guess in terms of folks who get it from the hospital it makes gut be. But that’s a pretty top notch facility.
Maybe? With all these third worlders who don’t yet know how to properly use a toilet, you still have doubts? Soap? What is that used for? Do you eat it?
I believe it is the same mite that causes mange in animals. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I think it’s more common than we think.
I didn’t post it from nowhere so yes its news. did ya see the link . yes news, how important not much, but I put it out . deal with it or move on.
that was kinda my point . I thought F. R . people could read and understand. my bad.
My daughter went on a business trip to NY and stayed at a hotel near Times Square. She came home with scabies. Went to the hospital and got treated. Disgusting.
A NYC hotel. that surprises me, I thought it was something that you caught from wild animals. Like I said I didn’t know what my itchy spot was until I heard about the girl at the vet clinic and that she had caught it from handling my dog. She didn’t go to a hospital, she went to a dermatologist.
I wasn’t trying to scold you. It was more stream of thought.
It’s like saying there was shingles at the old folks home! Ha ha.
Realy...not intended as a slem. I should have taken your name off it. No offense intended.
none taken be well
The found scabies on the Central Americans coming across during the summer invasion.
Scabies isn’t a big deal. I use to work in a jail and we had to go through the inmates stuff> somehow (by doing this) once I picked up scabies. Did what the doctor prescribed and it went away. Much like lice.
We didn’t know what it was. I initially thought it was bedbugs. The itching was so horrible she went to the emergency room.
Supposedly, it was a nice hotel.
Mine was just a small 2”x2” spot on my leg but the itching was horrible. Rubbing alcohol took care of it for me. I don’t remember what the vet gave my dog to cure his scabies.
I was volunteering for an elderly gentleman who got the scabies on a beach vacation with his family in Cape Cod.
I ended up with them but he had such a bad case and none of his nurses knew what was wrong with him. I finally called his daughter who is a nurse in NH and asked her to come to her stepdad’s apartment in MA to help him. She did and pronounced scabies. Then she had to call me to come over and she found them on me. Yuck!
Oh, her legs were covered with sores. She was in agony. The ER she went to is in a “sanctuary city” here and the doctor told her “We see this all the time!”
Scabies is a mite that burrows UNDER the skin and lives there. Hence bathing or scrubbing the skin with alcohol does not work to get rid of them once they are entrenched. The treatment is a prescription cream that must be rubbed over the entire body (not just the itchy area). The cream literally paralyses the mite and it suffocates to death.
Scabies is rife in nursing homes. Unfortunately, most people think that bathing will get rid of them. Bathing and scrubbing don’t work because they only clean the surface of the skin, not underneath.
The mite that gives dogs mange is a similar species.
