It is very beautiful there.
Chartres Cathedral, France.
The Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
The Germans pulled enough coal out of this place to fight WWI and II AND reconstruct itself.
It will cost you $300 a day to do a substantial drive in Italy with fuel and tolls. It is fantastic, but expensive.
I have seen this place, a couple of years ago. It was at night when we walked through, but it was really neat.
been there many times.
Venice is interesting, but it is rather polluted..canals and such. if you do go there, be sure to see san marcos square..it is the highlight of venice.
milan is nice, as is florence. turin is kinda blue collar, but the scenery is nice.
if you can, get off the beaten tourist path...the food will be much better, and less people.
that said, rome is amazing, if you appreciate history. it is kinda spendy, tho.
ciao
