Poor water (or soda, beer, etc.) into it’s ear. It will open and close it’s jaws and shake it’s head to get it out. I saw somebody do this and it works.

You better have lethal force ready because that Pit is going to be one P'O ed dog and I wouldn't want to be the object of its attention after it looses its initial target.
