A good friend of mine had an American Staffordshire named Daisy. She was wonderful! Doug would tell her, “JB’s here!” and she’d go nuts. Soon as she saw me she flopped on her back for a tummy rub, then near lick me to death. Great dog! Doug came home from softball one day, and was standing in the living room, talking on the phone when wonderful Daisy launched herself from the sofa, and latched on to his thigh. She wouldn’t let go, locking jaws or not! Luckily for Doug, the guy on the phone heard him screaming and called the cops. By the time they got there with the med squad, Doug had killed his lovable pet with his softball bat, and he was passing out on the floor. Meds told him in another minute or two, he would have bled out! 84 stitches. They’re a fighting breed, and don’t seem to mentally stable.
