We all know that selective breeding isn’t the same thing. Also, the slow change allows the consumers of the plant to adapt as well.

Yeah it is. Using a gene gun just gets you where you want to go much faster, and with much greater certainty.

Also, the slow change allows the consumers of the plant to adapt as well.

It takes time for consumers to adapt to the fact that they are ingesting significantly less quantities of mycotoxins from their GM corn than they were from the non-GMO corn? I'm sure these same consumers miss having elevated levels of toxins in their drinking water from the pre-GMO glory days when farmers used more herbicides and pesticides.
