My oldest daughter’s mother-in-law told her kids that seat belts would KILL them! and she was a retired NURSE!
Well, our granddaughter was in an accident on the way to nurse training school.
She was the only one of 4 girls in the car buckled.
AND the only one who was hospitalized!
Broken hip and pelvis.
A four year old is too small to be properly and safely restrained by a conventional seat belt. That child should have been in a child restraint seat. And it sounds like a good thing that granny’s retired, cause if she thinks not wearing a seat belt is somehow safer than having one on, she’s a moron.
