A better choice would be several smaller but coordinated actions in the heartland. These people are nuts but not stupid. What they are doing right now is prepping the field to raise the anxiety.

As a matter of fact, I could see a coordinated mall attack in numerous malls simultaneously on black Friday. I mean they did plan to steal 3 planes at the same time.
I think if or when it happens the so called (yea right) moderate muslims better come out real real fast in numerous numbers and condemn these attacks. Otherwise I can see numerous revenge attacks. It could get real real ugly.

IS will hit back—where and when is the only question. I Believe they will Do what they say and hit New York. How is the only question. Might be a few Lone wolfs start shootin’ folks on the subway—to a few pressure cooker bombs—Or a plan to re-do a 9-11 of some sort. It might be a Mumbai Sort of Attack—hitting with a group of armmed people at a Iconic Hotel (The Waldorf—or Trump Tower—or that place where Lennon was shot) —cut off some heads—shoot folks etc... They might go for Wall Street—or the St. Pats on a Sunday. Might be gas in the subway—or poison in the markets-or restaurants. A Broadway show might be a good place for terror as they did once in Moscow.—a landmark could do as well like Statue of Liberty, Grants Tomb, or Freedom Tower? The cards are in their hands now—and we must wait.
From other threats I’ve seen it seems they may just do individual attacks on random people in various places. If causing terror is their aim, that would work. Plus it’s easier as there is no security in less populated areas.
If it happens, someone needs to make a sign with that on it.

I was at the Dupont Plaza Hotel in San Juan when it burned and more than 100 people died. I was out by the pool but went up to the lobby for something where I smelled the smoke. They had had a couple of fires there that week so I wasn't too upset but I tend to be cautious so I very quickly went down the stairs and the smoke was getting thicker. I ran out onto the beach when the explosions happened. They said there were no explosions but I'm telling you there were.
It was weird. And this will sound weird too. There had just been a report in the news talking about the relative likelihood of getting married versus being in a terrorist attack and concluded that the probability was low for either. All I could think of as I ran was the odds of *both* being in a terrorist attack *and* getting married. The odds of a joint occurrence seemed pretty slim. LOL
I think a secret service man died in the fire and the publisher of a big newspaper. The bad guys were trying to get the casino money for the Free Puerto Rico separatist movement.
Interesting. Also I have a strong interest in one of your comments: You observed no Muslims in their normal occupational positions (no cabbies, no fruit vendors). Is that true? If so, it implies ... no, DEMANDS... that they all knew.

The attack wasn’t by Muslims - that I know of. I’d say the majority of the hotel guests were Jewish from the New York area and at first I figured it was an anti-Jewish attack. But I really think it was about robbing the casino money for the Free Puerto Rico movement. I was interviews by two FBI guys but they didn’t give me much information. I told them I was curious about some of the people I had met that week, curious if they had survived and how to find out. Their response was that it wasn’t a good idea to go poking around and drawing attention to myself. hmmm...
About the taxis. They were always lined up at the entrance but on that afternoon there were none. Vendors were usually on the beach with little tables of wares every afternoon. That afternoon there were none. There was usually a band playing at the pool in the afternoon. No band. Everyone was relieved. If we heard Feliz Navidad one more time we were going to scream.
And one thing I learned: be very aware of your environment. That day on the beach, right before the attack, a group of about 15 VERY attractive girls in bikinis went running up the beach. I bet they were hired to do that as a distraction. When something unusual like that happens now I have a heightened awareness.

I think the group was involved with a armored car robbery somewhere near Hartford. The details are vague. I’ll try to look it up.
