i was a kid when that movie came out... the advertisements scared me! my best friend, next door neighbor, was a year older than i... she would see all those movies and then come and tell me about them the next day... that creepy hand hanging out of the bassinet was so scary to me!

i am the youngest of 7, and there is an 8-year difference between me and the second youngest, so i was exposed to a lot at an early age... my sister read the book The Exorcist... when she finished, i would sneak her book and read it at night... i was about 9-years old... i scared myself, but could not stop reading it... i slept with my light on... :)
