The U.S. is planning to train veterans to become solar panel installers in the next six years, the White House said Thursday.

The jobs training program is among a host of initiatives the White House says will cut carbon dioxide emissions by more than 300 million tons through 2030, plus save billions of dollars on energy bills for homeowners and businesses. It will launch this fall at one or more military bases and train a total of at least 50,000, including veterans. …

In the third “dirty harry Movie”, The Enforcer, Eastwood sits on a promotion panel and asks the question: What do you think this (the police) is, some kind of encounter group. That is EXACTLY the way our illustrious Commode in Chief sees his Army. We send military personnel to Africa to deal with ebola while we send no fighting ground force to either our borders to repel invaders or to Iraq to kill the vermin ISIS.

I am pretty uninformed on solar panels but wonder how much “greenhouse emissions” are produced when producing solar panels?

Is it like the electric hand driers in restrooms? They save paper towels but how much coal is burned to produce the electricity?

Thanks Olog.

This amazing. I once saw a site that had photos of failed solar and wind projects from the 70's. It seems they are just rehashing the same ideas over and over

Not like it would take a lot of skill beyond modest construction skills. You can buy them at Harbor Freight and the instructions are in the box...

However, the whole thing is a piece of crap anyway. They don’t work at night, their too expensive (maybe $30K to run your house), and only last 20 years if your lucky.

Train 50,000 ... look for the cronys (cronies?) doing the training because that is the only money that will come out of this colossal waste of time.

I thought about one of thoseveral kits for a storage building that I use. The electricity was cut off years ago and things have deteriorated. I would want enough to charge batteries and a small work light or two.

I’m going to get a generator and run it till it dies and replace.

"...how much coal is burned to produce the electricity?"

HOW DARE YOU! As with electric cars, you are never to question from whence the electricity appears! It is magicked from unicorn breath!

Ask any democrat.
Chemtrails,
rising sea levels,
black lung from rail shipments of coal,
drowning polar bears,
the millions dead from radon,
the New Ice Age that started in the '70s,
the blood drenched streets of open carry towns,
the wildly successful Soviet Marxist economy that to this day is a benchmark for the rest of the World...

I'm sorry. The List of Stupidity and Lies is endless. I can no longer can offer reasons leftists should be kept alive.

“plus save billions of dollars on energy bills for homeowners and businesses”

Not a single homeowner or business will see a reduction or savings on their energy bills as a result of this. Not a single one. Bank on it.

I would love to go solar on our house to get rid of our high electric bills. Last month our electric bill was $628. So far the cost of going solar just doesn’t make sense. I have looked at it upside down and sideways.

Selling coal to the Chi-Coms would not be a bad thing.

The silicon refining process produces plenty of CO2. But hopefully, the solar panels reduce the amount of grid power that a given building uses.

Bingo. The money will all go to contracts with Democrat donors. Yet another taxpayer-financed slush fund.
