ifinnegan:

So, you urge that regardless of how leftist a GOP nominee may be (i.e. gun-grabbing, pro-abort, pro-gay agenda, tax hiking, medical system grabbing, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam Romney) conservatives somehow OWE their votes to such candidates. That explains where RINO comes from and CINO as well. AINO for American in Name Only may apply as well.

Promoting GOP-E candidates and actually voting for them and urging others to do so is where "bootlicker" comes in.

POS is amply covered by paragraphs 1 and 2 above. This is not just some debating society. When you want to inflict upon the United States of America such trash as Obozo OR Myth Romney as POTUS, you have become part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Tea time. Go to the parlor and get some watercress sandwiches and some Earl Grey and have your butler tuck you in so that you won't have to deal with those awful conservative and often Christian barbarians.

Nihilists were among the precursors to the soviet revolution and the communist takeover of pre-Franco Spain. Myth would have joined them if he had been in the correct place at the correct time to take opportunist advantage. Conservatives and Christians are the ones who killed the Spanish communists, anarchists and nihilists, sometimes quite colorfully and, ummm, splashily.

You are embarrassed enough already and I will extend the kindness of not taking shameless advantage of your confidence in Huntsman, another grotesque RINO. Considering your enthusiasm for Romney and Huntsman, you might consider writing a book entitled: What's the Matter with Utah?

OTOH, is your screen name an indication that, like me, you are Irish by ancestry? Do your political views suggest that, if you had your way, they would STILL be singing God Save the Queen in the pubs of Michael Collins' City and County of Cork?

I said nothing of the sort and I do not feel you are being intellectually honest with regard to what I have said or my position.

BTW, my last name is Irish but I am American 100%. I am a 100% old time American mix. Neither of my grandmothers even knew what country their ancestors came from, it was so far back when they came.

My German ancestors were Documented patriots in the American Revolution, having participated from Tennessee in what was then N Carolina.

Where did ifinnegan write or imply that conservatives “OWE” their votes to liberals like Romney? Where also did he write or imply we have to support the Republican “regardless of how leftist a GOP nominee may be?” It seems to me ifinnegan was simply saying it’s better to vote for the best candidate one can get.

There may be some rare circumstances where the Republican is arguably worse than the Democrat. For example, Mitch McConnell as the majority leader of the senate could conceivably do far more damage to conservative causes than a newbie Democrat. I say conceivably because it’s a tough call.

I don’t see anyone on my side of the argument making the claim that it’s easy to vote for RINOs or that we OWE them our votes. In fact, they run a very real risk of losing every time they thumb their noses at us. Regardless, that’s a separate issue than the theme of this thread. Do we hold our noses and vote for the lesser evil to stop a greater one?

It’s not black and white, because there are different degrees of evil. No Republican candidate will ever be 100% pure and too few even make it to 80%. The question is, does one vote for a 10, 20, or 30% ally to stop a 0% enemy?
