Sooooooo, they're in bear country and not one idiot had a gun? They're in bear country, but on employer's company premises.
I would not be surprised if employer had a "no guns at work" policy.

Mace, security guards with guns, hornet spray even? Oh well. I guess i would not work in bear country if there were no weapons allowed.
On the other hand perhaps the inspiring psychologist tried to analyze the bear?

According to some people in the know in the comments section, most of the oil companies have a “no firearms” policy on their premises. Really worked out well for that poor woman didn’t it?
