"Support the Player and Be Quiet": What It's Like to Be an NFL Wife
Mother Jones ^ | 9-12-2014 | Tracy Treu, as told to Ian Gordon

Posted on 09/13/2014 5:40:21 PM PDT by Citizen Zed

A former Oakland Raiders spouse on the Rice scandal and the league’s culture of secrecy.

Tracy Treu worked at Mother Jones from 1998 to 2006 and is married to former Oakland Raiders center Adam Treu, who played 10 seasons in the NFL.

I'm so fed up by people blaming Janay Rice. We're asking for incredible bravery, and we're giving little compassion to this woman. Because it's so easy to say: "Well, she's the fool who married him. Why doesn't she just leave?" There are just so many components to it that people aren't aware of.

The NFL is a culture that values secrecy. When you're with an NFL team, the message to you is clear: Don't f--- anything up for your partner, and don't f--- anything up for the team. Don't be controversial. Don't talk to the media. Stay out of the way. Support the player and be quiet.

I wonder if Rice's teammates really want to give the wife-beater a private lesson in manners. I wonder if they did?

I would have figured an nfl wife would typically blow the whistle on her husband so they would lose the income on his multi million dollar contract.

My escape from politics has now become political. So I must escape with something else. Maybe I’ll go shooting more.

Meet Michigan high school football star, college and NFL prospect (and unarmed teen) Jayru Campbell. He just got out of jail yesterday after his assault on a school security guard. He didn't even make it 12 hours before he went back to jail for assaulting his girlfriend.

Report: Detroit Cass Tech football star Jayru Campbell back in trouble hours after being released from jail

Here is video of the little tyke assaulting the security guard.

“Well, she’s the fool who married him. Why doesn’t she just leave?”

$$$$$$$$$$ is the reason.

He doesn’t return to the NFL, look for the divorce.

And then there’s this:

http://www.tmz.com/2014/09/09/ray-rice-video-wife-janay-instagram-statement/

In a post from her Instagram page Tuesday morning, and verified by the Baltimore Sun,Janay Palmer writes, “I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself.”

She continued, “No one knows the pain that the media
& unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.”

Palmer ended the post by saying, “THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is!
Ravensnation we love you!

A sign of the increasing feminization of the nation. Yes 40% of NFL fans are women, but those are the types of women that don’t really matter to the cosmopolitan elites. “Real Women”, those that matter, are not registered republicans, southerners, Midwesterners, pro-life, married, heterosexual women.

The NFL is a pleasure of a lot of men and a certain segment of women that really are invisible or viewed with hostility by the cosmopolitan elites. Since “those types of people” enjoy it, than there is something wrong with it and it should go.

Let’s see, the two things in this country that most unite the races are Christianity and football. The media has been attacking both relentlessly. the media also hypes and distorts cases where a white man kills a black man. Is the media trying to start a race war in this country?

Sorry but there’s nothing really special about NFL wives vs. wives of sanitation workers or cops or lawyers when it comes to physical (or mental) abuse. Nothing special, sorry. Well, one thing, maybe: the NFL husband is typically bigger and stronger and more powerful than the average sanitation worker, cop. lawyer, and more able to inflict physical harm. The average lawyer is typically smarter than the average NFL player, more manipulative and better able to inflict psychological and/or emotional harm.

The woman who stays with ANY of them, who cares what his profession may be, needs help, she needs counseling and she needs to get the hell out.

Tracy Treu worked at "Mother Jones" from 1998 to 2006

This means she's a barking moonbat, so stop reading. Who cares what certifiable crazy people say, no matter how many NFL players they've slept with?

It’s asking a lot for the girlfriend / wife to speak up and close off the money spigot.
