Another hit to the southwest from a hurricane. Texas hit from low coming in from the tropics. A look at the coming winter; it looks a lot like last winter. That ridge of high pressure in the Gulf of Alaska sent everything that would have belonged to California up and over to the Midwest. And it looks like the same for this year. I don't see increased rain, but Joe said more winter rain, so I wait.

A look at the coming winter; it looks a lot like last winter. I live in western NY ... last winter was the worst in 50 years.
Time to move.

You are welcome. It’s 98 degrees here, and I’m really tired of summer.

We just got done with Summer for a while, until the expected Indian Summer, I'm guessing.
I was out last night looking for the Aurora (barely discernible) and it was in the 40s.
Mid 50s and wet now. Still have shorts on, though.

On Saturdays after Joe posts his summary. Occasionally, he’ll post extras if there is a big storm. But the time varies.

Guess you missed winter of 1977
Over 30 feet of snow that year - many people did not find their cars until spring........

If there’s a monthly forecast summary ping, I’d prefer that. If not, then please add me to the weekly ping list. Thanks.

We had a record low temperature for this date in my area. AGW is working well.

I didn't. I lived just a few miles from the shores of Lake Ontario. A few years later I developed some sense and came home to a place that averages 20" of snow a season. People here don't believe my NY snow stories.

Not hardly, especially the blizzard of '77 ... my wife was fully nine months pregnant ... and I thought I might have to deliver my own son. He was born a week later.
I was also here for the '66 blizzard. But in both cases, the snow came, the winds blew, but eventually both stopped and the sun came out again.
Last year, it was not only brutally cold all winter and half the spring, but it snowed and snowed and never had a chance to melt.
