Did Hillary Clinton really say this? (vanity)

Quote of the day, no, of the week, make that a month. Yet it probably is quote of the year! No. DECADE. Wait a minute. It's the greatest quote ever!

“My accomplishments as Secretary of State? Well, I'm glad you asked! My proudest accomplishment in which I take the most pride, mostly because of the opposition it faced early on, you know… the remnants of prior situations and mindsets that were too narrowly focused in a manner whereby they may have overlooked the bigger picture and we didn’t do that and I’m proud of that. Very proud. I would say that’s a major accomplishment.”

- Hillary Clinton 11 March 2014

It’s easy to understand why the job to secure Benghazi never happened. And also easy to see why the LYING BS that came from State and The Foreigners regime afterwards to protect their political rear ends.

Once long ago, I gave a similar answer to a boss of mine, and he told me I should go into politics!

My guess is that Snopes would say that the quotation cited at the top of this thread does not appear in your video.

No, I have a dear FRiend who emails great pro-conservative material, comics and articles. (Sadly, I don’t know how to post graphics and photos on FR). Stupid Old Woman (SOW).

My friend did not list a link - so I framed the header as a question. FReepers are always quick to bolster or question sources. Sometimes, I actually do research before posting - not this time;)

Best Doonesbury ever had Teddy at a presser, babbling, and in the fourth frame the reporter in the back says, “A verb, Senator, we need a verb!”

No, she didn't say that. What she actually said in response to the question (which included 'what would like to have another crack at?') was perhaps worse. I transcribed the youtube link above and got this:

"Uhh . . . I really see . . . umm . . . that was good . . . [to the audience] that's why he [the questioner] wins prizes . . . i . . . I . . . I . . . see my role as Secretary, and in fact leadership in general, in a democracy, as, uh, uh, a relay race.

"You run the best race you can run and you hand off the baton and some of what hasn't been finished may go on to be finished, so when President Obama asked me to be Secretary of State and I . . . um . . . agreed, we had the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We had two wars. We had continuing . . . um . . . threats from all kinds of corners around the world that we had to deal with, so it was a perilous time, frankly.

"And what he said to me what . . . uh. . . I . . . I . . . uh . . . I, ah, have to be dealing with the economic crisis, I want you to go out and, ah, represent us around the world.

"And it was a good division of labor because we needed to make it clear to the rest of the world that we were going to get our house in order, we were going to stimulate and grow and get back to positive growth and work with our friends and partners.

"So I think we did, I think we did that, and I'm very proud that out of the stabilization and, you know, really solid leadership that the administration provided that I think now leads us to be able to deal with problems like the Ukraine. Because we're not so worried about, uh, collapse in Europe and in China trying to figure out what to do with their bond holdings and all the problems we were obsessed with.

"I think we really restored American leadership in the best sense, that, uh, once again people began to rely on us, to look at us, as, uh, setting the values and setting the standards. I just don't want to lose that, because we have a, um, dysfunctional political situation in Washington. And then, of course a lot of particulars. but I am finishing my book if you want to read all about it.

Thx for transcribing what can only be described as a mumbled mess of maniacal meanderings. Far worse than what I posted;) sod

I have to confess. I personally made up this quote. I didn't intend for it to make it's way around the internet as a true quote, but I found it awesomely funny that it did.

Here is my original posting of it, straight from my brain to my keyboard then off into the interspace ether.

The quote is not authentic. The editors of Snopes may be biased - even that isn’t established - but they don’t make stuff up.
