I do not know much about this specific enterovirus—for instance, how serious it is as compared to EV-71 or some of the other serious EVs. Given the symptoms, I would not be surprised if some kids die of it.
This is, IMO, a worse health threat than Ebola. But Ebola still seems to be dominating the news.
We can’t forget that flu season is rapidly approaching. It will kill thousands, as it does every year, mostly young children and the elderly.
Practice good infection control, and teach it to kids from the beginning. That’s our best protection against just about all of these viruses.
