My beloved kitty, now at the Rainbow Bridge, had one of these, she loved it, and it groomed her.

If your kitty looks like the kitty in the ad, you have a beautiful tuxedo kitty. May she have a long, healthy, happy life with you. :)

That’s #3 on the great uses for a toilet brush top 10.

Paper balls drove mine nuts when she was still alive. If she even heard the sound of paper being wadded up she’d perk up and be ready to pounce. Anytime, anywhere. Add a stick and string and she would play with it for as long as you wanted to make it dance. It was Crazzzzy.

Orange tabbys are the best. He looks a lot like a cat I once had years ago. RIP, Tigger.

My now-departed kitty Albert loved the ping pong sized wiffle balls. Because of the holes in them, she (I know, a girl - but the name was still Albert) could pick them up and carry them. She loved to play fetch and, if I tired of the game, she’d leap into the bath tub and chase one around; seemed to enjoy the latter game especially in the middle of the night). Really miss her.

Hair ties.
My cats love my hair ties. They steal them from my nightstand and gather them all in various areas of the house.

Mom had a cat that went bonkers for the plastic seal ring from jars of peanuts. We called them ring dings. The cat would go to its barrel of cat toys in the pantry and pull one out and bat it around until it slid under a cabinet that she couldn't reach under.

Eventually 4 or 5 of these rings would wind up under that cabinet, so mom would grab her metal yardstick from the peg in the stairwell to the basement and go fish out the ring dings for Lulu.

Luey caught on quick... the sound of the basement door opening and the metal yardstick being taken off its hook made her run to the cabinet to await mommy digging out all the ring dings.

Please be careful with things like string or yarn. If the cat swallows it, and many of them try to do that, it can lead to a painful death as the string or yarn can wrap around the intestines.
However, I agree that there are plenty of safe things around a house to provide entertainment and exercise for your pet.

Personally, I doubt my cats would use it.

Yeah, just like the scratching posts that cats carefully examine and then go right back to shredding the couch.

The commercial for that thing irritates the heck out of me.

Implies that all cats are female. It shows obviously male cats using the thing while referring to them as “she” and “her”.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good.

I explained that the best things are what she already has: ball up a piece of paper, paper bags, plastic cups, yarn and other miscellany will keep kitties occupied for hours on end.

The favorite toy of every cat we have ever had was pipe cleaners. Just curl one around your finger to form a cork screw shape and cats will go nuts.

We had to quit adding tinsel to the tree each Christmas because our cat kept playing with them and trying to eat them. ...we knew that would not end (ha) well. My beloved cat, now waiting for me at the gate of heaven, loved laying under the Christmas tree. We had to leave a chubby area where no gifts could go, just to give him a good spot to nap.

One of our three will play with toy mice, so those aren’t totally wasted of our house. Of the other two, one likes to steal binder clips and pens and the other steals hair ties.

Oh that is such a great story. Lulu is a very smart girl and she had her human very well trained ;)

Our cat loves bread ties and all of them end up in the water bowl! Rubber bands, Qtips, bread ties...all end up in the water bowl

And if you get two of them close together, you can step on your cat and whack the other one off the field.

I think she thinks they’re her babies because she carries them in her mouth and takes them to the food dish.

We have a big bag of Beanie Babies (left over from a child that worked at McD's). Our Calico has 3 or 4 favorites that she carries like babies all over the house. She even howls as she's moving them.

Poor little frustrated mommy!

Nice picture, nice cat. Andy Animal has his own version: he jumps up on his table and meows to get not just petted, but combed. Midmorning. Or else.
